Candle Maintenance

Before lighting your candle be sure to trim the wick ¼ inch from the base.

Before lighting your candle the first time, be sure to trim the wick ¼ inch from its base.

During subsequent uses, use a soft cotton pad (or nylon stocking at the end of its life) to remove excess carbon (black) which sometimes accumulates after long use. Failure to remove the coal could cause the candle to go out on its own. Cut the wick ¼ inch from its base. Do not leave any wick or other debris in the wax.

It is important to always let the candle burn evenly to maximize its potential, and to prevent it from hollowing out and creating a tunnel effect. A lot of wax will be wasted due to this tunneling effect and you won't get the most out of your candle.

To do this, make sure you have a few hours to burn your candle. This should always be lit for a minimum of 2 hours so that the wax liquefies evenly over its entire surface. Especially since you will fill your home with a sweet, comforting scent!

Do not let your candle burn for more than 4 consecutive hours. This could cause the flame to rise too high. A buildup of soot could end up on the container, as well as a buildup of wax on the wick, which could eventually fall into the melted wax. After 4 hours of use, it is advisable to wait around 2 hours, until the wax hardens and can be used again!

To clean the container and give it a second life, all you have to do is pour boiling water inside and wait for the wax to cool. You will have no trouble removing the beautiful piece of wax that will form. The latter can then be used as a pebble to perfume a room.

Warning Candle

To avoid serious injury or fire, never leave a candle burning unattended and keep it away from objects that catch fire easily.

Keep out of reach of children and pets.

Avoid placing the candle in a place where there are drafts.

Stop using when there is more or less 1 cm of wax remaining at the bottom of the container. This will prevent it from overheating.

If the flame gets too high, blow out your candle and wait for the wax to solidify before lighting it again.

Keep the wax pool free of debris.

Each time the candle is lit, do not touch or move the hot candle.
